We are a family run garage, who have been serving the Bourne community for over three decades.
Our business was first established over 30 years ago by Mick Ayliff as ‘Mick Ayliff Motor Engineer’ and supported by his wife Heather Ayliff, who built the premises between 1992-1997 at The Slipe. As needs arose their son, Max, was employed whilst studying his NVQ's at Peterborough College (around 20 years ago now) as well as other staff as required.
Max’s wife, Zoe, joined the company in April 2021, having an extensive career in Senior Management, it seemed the right time to look at future planning. From then we have looked at the services we provide, suppliers we use and reviewed many aspects of the business, including rebranding, name change and turning into a limited company.
In July 2021, we asked every customer for feedback.
The results were very interesting, we have taken time to look into the feedback given and hopefully have made some positive changes to deliver a better-quality service. These included changing our oil supplier to Millers Oils and continuing with Forte fuel and engine treatments as both are leading brands in their field.
We also invested in a courtesy car, so as well as the collection/return service that we offer, we now have a courtesy car that can be lent out. Please ask about this when booking.
Our name change came about by wanting to celebrate the history of the company, but at the same time looking at modernisation and future-proofing. We didn’t want to lose the family name which has served the community for so long, but at the same time, we wanted a fresh new look, as well as the name change to represent what we have become, which is a bigger business, coming away from the days when Mick would work on his own and was himself the business.
Feb 2024 saw us sign a new lease for the entire building, transforming our 3 bay garage to 7 bays with an MOT bay, getting rid of our two week wait for a booking, we are now able to see our customers cars quicker in order to help people get back on the road. We've also undergone commercial cleaning, internal and external decoration and updated our reception area.
We employ 6 mechanics: Ian, Shaun, Jake, Josh, Ryan, and James, as well as 3 receptionists, Kelly, Karen and Lisa. We also have Ben, our Workshop Manager, Becky our Administrative Services Manager and Milly our Administrator.
We strive to provide trustworthy and precise vehicle repairs and maintenance within our local community.
